As I was preparing for this post, I thought, how ironic – it’s raining. Although, I was a little let’s say unmotivated. I remembered I’m in California, and rain is a good thing right now. Then I thought we really shouldn’t let the rain stop us from looking cute. So for this post, I researched the 2015 Spring trends and chose my favorites that I think are doable and totally cute. Here are the trends I wanted to showcase: denim, obi belt, midi skirt, floral crown, military green, fringe, kimonos, gingham print, crop-tops, polka dots, and slides/sandals (inspiration pictured below).
Denim – Always in style, but I’m thinking it’s time to bring back the jean jacket too.
Obi Belt – These were in style way back when, and now they’re back. Totally cute.
Midi skirts – These are probably by lifetime obsession. So so cute, especially with ankle strapped heels or sandals.
Floral crown – They’re everywhere right now, but I think there really is a time and place to rock this. I wouldn’t wear it to dinner.
Military green – This color can be totally chic, I especially love it paired with gold accessories.
Fringe – You could be wearing a very plain outfit, but as soon as you throw your fringe bag in the mix it immediately elevates the look.
Kimonos – These have replaced cardigans for me. They’re so flowy and can be thrown on top of almost any look.
Gingham print – A little difficult to pull off, but doable. I would start off with something subtle (as shown above). It’s sort of like plaid, so if you’re going to rock this print make sure everything else is very calm.
Crop-tops – Probably not the first thing that pops into your mind when you think modest, but it can work (see above). If you’re going to wear it the pants/skirt have to be high-waist.
Polka dots – Same thing applies as it did for gingham print. Don’t go crazy with the polka dots, it can get Minnie Mouse very fast.
Slides – I absolutely how casual these shoes are, but chic at the same time. I also adore them in sandal-form.
