The Adapted Obsession

So for this edition of Maxi Monday, I bring you…sweater LONG SLEEVE maxi dresses!  Talk about perfect combination for modest fall clothing.

Although they may be a bit hard to find – the internet is your best friend.  I did fall in love with this textured one at Nordstrom.  I would of course still wear something under, but the fabric type is thick enough to keep you warm.

You can almost always adapt your favorite Summer look so that it is appropriate for Fall or Winter.

I’m going to use the Nordstrom dress as an example.

What to wear with it:

Heeled Ankle Booties – The go-to Fall shoes.  I recommend a slight heel because they just tend to look better with dresses, and Flat “ankle booties” may look a bit awkward with this particular dress.

Closed-toe Flats – PERFECT for the warmer Fall days.

Print Scarf – Because the dress is solid and dull in color, a print scarf would liven it up!

Infinity Scarf (if it’s a little colder) – These just scream Fall.

What NOT to wear with it:

Sandals – I would avoid these because it’s a sweater dress.  Fall does have those unexpected warm days, so you should probably just wear these with your other maxi dresses.

Flip-flops – No.

Flat Long Boots – These would be all wrong for this dress.  Ankle Booties or no boots at all.

Solid Colored Scarf – Would clash too much with the solid print dress, UNLESS you’re wearing print flats or a print bag.
