Las Vegas Trip

When you hear “Las Vegas” you may think: gambling, drinking, among other things, but really, that’s only part of it. When my husband and I were trying to plan my birthday trip, we really wanted to do something different because we usually just go to San Francisco or Los Angeles. That’s when we thought of Las Vegas, and let me tell you, it was a whole new experience.

We were only there for 3 days and 2 nights, so we didn’t get to do everything we wanted to.We walked the strip a couple of times, saw the Bellagio fountains and the “seven magic mountains.” We also ate a TON  and drank coffee and virgin strawberry daiquiris that could last us a lifetime. The weather was perfection. It was about 80 in the day time and maybe around 60 at night. So now is the time to go. If you can fly, do it, or if you’re within driving distance do your best to make the drive in the day time because driving at night for 8 hours is noooot fun.

Day 1: We decided to drive down the day of my birthday at 3:30 AM. Yes, in the morning. We got there just in time to check into our hotel at 12 PM. We stayed at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa about 20 mins away from the strip, which I think was the best idea ever. Not to mention our room had a giant tub, and anyone who knows me knows I can’t resist a huge tub. We settled in and then got dressed to explore. Our first stop, of course, was the strip.

We walked around for a bit and then stopped and ate at Eggslut. Which was amazing, they also have locations in Southern California. A definite must try. We then walked over to a coffee shop called “Sambalatte.” It was super good the first time, but our second visit on Wednesday, not so much. The service was horrible the second time. So it sounds like a hit or miss. We ended the night with dinner at our resort and of course, virgin strawberry daiquiris.

For the first day, I wore the below look. A pastel pink cardigan from Forever 21, a black cropped jumpsuit from Marshall’s, wedges from Forever 21, Calvin Klein scarf from Marshall’s, choker necklace from Forever 21, and the bag is from Michael Kors.

Day 2: Our first stop was to get breakfast. We thought about ordering room service, but figured we probably should go out. We found this awesome place called “Eat.” It was super good, it isn’t on the strip, but it isn’t too far. We then went to a Harry Potter themed coffee shop (yes, you read that right) called Bad Owl Coffee, which was 20 minutes away from the strip. It was so good, and definitely Instagram-worthy. We then went back to our resort and went for a little swim. We then had dinner at the resort, and ended the night with coffee from Madhouse Coffee and the strip to see the Bellagio fountains and take a walk.

For day 2, I wore this red top/dress with flounces from H&M. I bought it a couple of weeks ago because I just fell in love with it, but I wasn’t sure how to wear it until I needed an outfit for this trip. The wedges with fringes and the white bag were both from Marshall’s.

Day 3: We were trying to leave early, but of course, that didn’t happen. We packed up our stuff and set off to get some coffee and drive through the strip one last time. We decided to get coffee from Sambalatte again, but it wasn’t good and the service sucked. We then went to the “seven magic mountains” to get a mini birthday photo shoot in, balloons and all. Of course, it was super windy and didn’t work out very well, but i’m still glad we were able to do it. We didn’t leave Vegas until about 5 PM and got home at about 1 or 2 AM.

I decided to wear the same jumpsuit (no shame), this time with a white long sleeve shirt underneath. Same shoes, but this time topped it off with a hat I got from Marshall’s for only $7.99.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what you think below 🙂
