Wearing the hijab gives a woman a sense of ingenuity. We have created our own style. We constantly reinvent fashion trends to suit our modest needs (without even knowing that we’re doing it). And I just have to say Pinterest is the best resource to find such trends that we want to redevelop! For my Eid outfit I was inspired by the full midi-skirts, but couldn’t find the one I was really looking for, but I was able to adapt (which is what all of us hijabis have learned to do).
So the thing with these skirts is that they need to be just long enough to stop right before your ankles and then you have to find the right ankle strapped heels. I found mine by luck at Ross for only about $20. I saw this amazing skirt at ASOS, but didn’t order because I ran out of time and I’m just not sure it’s the right length. But if you’re interested, you can check it out here. It may look a bit short in the photo, but I’ve seen the look on other fashion bloggers and it was the perfect length (my thought is that the model is probably taller than the average).
My advice to you is that if you have a particular look in mind don’t give up on it! With all the resources available to you online you’re bound to find exactly what you’re looking for. Not even just online, but you never know when you’ll walk into the store and lay eyes on the item that you had in mind. Although I wasn’t able to get the exact skirt I wanted, I was able to find a great substitute that worked out just fine.
