Wearing the hijab gives a woman a sense of ingenuity. We have created our own style. We constantly reinvent fashion trends to suit our modest needs; without even knowing that we’re doing it. Pinterest is probably the best resource to find looks waiting for us to recreate. My inspiration behind this particular look is midi skirts. I wanted to make it hijab-friendly and I think I did just that.
First of all, the thing about making midi skirts hijab-friendly is that they need to be just long enough to stop right before your ankles. To allow for coverage of your ankles, ankle-strapped heels are the way to go. I found these heels at Ross for only about $20. I originally found a skirt at ASOS, but didn’t order because I ran out of time; and wasn’t sure about the length. It may look a bit short in the photo, but I’ve seen the look on other fashion bloggers and it was the perfect length.
My advice to you is that if you have a particular look in mind, keep searching for it. With all the resources available to you online, you’re bound to find exactly what you’re looking for. Not even just online, but you never know when you’ll walk into the store and lay eyes on that very item. Which happened with this skirt below. I went to Nordstrom Rack and it was right in front of me.
We prove our ingenuity every day with every look. Just remember to allow yourself to be creative.
