The Spotlight: Hijab Louvre

The architecture. The history. The art. The details. The Louvre.

The Louvre has given us many things, one being – inspiration.

The city of Paris known for being the city of romance and fashion has inspired Malak O., a Lebanese-American Muslim who was born and raised in Michigan, to launch her modest fashion brand, Hijab Louvre.

“I was always fascinated with Paris, the city of fashion, romance, lights, history. . .,” Malak said. “The Louvre, a museum in Paris, is absolutely stunning . . . the spark, the unique structure, the elegance, the art aspect . . .”

Although the Louvre isn’t modest in the way hijab is, Hijab Louvre still encompasses many of the same aspects as the Paris-based museum by offering pieces that are “elegant, fierce, and unique.”

Malak founded Hijab Louvre in 2010 and officially launched in 2013 to be the “breakthrough” of modest fashion globally.

“Hijab Louvre aspires to sell a variety of modest women apparel while keeping versatility in mind,” Malak said.

This variety and versatility is evident through the handmade apparel featuring dresses, skirts, tops, trousers, scarves, and more.

Because each and every woman has their own individual taste, Hijab Louvre hopes this variety and versatility will satisfy every fashion need.

“Hijab Louvre caters to women of all faiths, diverse backgrounds and lifestyles,” Malak said. “Whether you’re a mother, student, caregiver, working woman or all of [the above], we at Hijab Louvre understand your lifestyle, desires, neccessities, and most importantly [uniqueness].”

Hijab Louvre’s focus on uniqueness and individuality supports the fact that this company is “conscious to the needs of others.”

“Hijab Louvre has vowed to hold ‘Shop for a Cause’ events in which we will send a fraction of our proceeds to non-profit organizations,” Malak said.

“Shop for a Cause” fits right into Malak’s hope that her company will put honesty, integrity and quality first and foremost.

Malak carries this honesty and integrity through her own personal style as well. She describes her style as comfortable while staying true to herself.

“I normally tend to navigate towards vintage, classy, fierce, and unique looking apparel,” Malak said.

Malak’s absolute favorite piece from the current collection is The Fierce Gown.

Fierce is exactly what this dress embodies. It features long sleeves, “pleather” lace and taffeta with a back zipper that is perfect for any event or party.

The Fierce Gown is just one example of the intricate and unique designs of the current collection.

Hijab Louvre has taken the city of Paris and the world-famous Louvre and stitched it into the next addition to your closet.
